I'm inspired to help others cultivate wonder, insight, and resilience, and have been blessed to work toward this end as an interfaith chaplain, spiritual life director, and meditation teacher. Currently, I work as a chaplain with Baystate Hospice. From 2018-2025 I served as Director of Religious and Spiritual Life at Amherst College. Before that, I was Director of Religious and Spiritual Life & Campus Chaplain at Emerson College for almost 2 years across 2017-2018. From 2013-2016 I served as the Buddhist Spiritual Advisor and Mindfulness Program Director at Northeastern University, as well as Staff Chaplain at Franciscan Children's, where I taught mindfulness meditation to adolescent patients on an acute psychiatric unit.
I received a master of divinity, focused on Buddhist ministry, from Harvard Divinity School, and a master of education from Lesley University’s Creative Arts in Learning Program. I was a Board Certified Chaplain from 2013-2021 and was authorized in 2012 as a Community Dharma Leader in the Insight Meditation tradition of Theravada Buddhism. Across my work, I am committed to increasing mindfulness equity—equal access to mindfulness training across potential barriers based on race or class. Venues at which I have presented on mindfulness equity and Buddhist chaplaincy include Oxford University, Harvard's Medical and Divinity Schools, and the International Symposium for Contemplative Studies. I am the Editor of Dancing with Dharma: Essays on Movement and Dance in Western Buddhism (McFarland, 2016).
Groups or venues for which I have offered workshops, meditations, papers, posters, or lectures include:
